Inside Wireman Program

Hands-On Training

The NECA-IBEW Electrical JATC offers a five-year apprenticeship program, which combines both on the job and related classroom training.

Inside Wireman

If accepted into the apprenticeship program, apprentices must complete a minimum of 8,000 on the job training hours before becoming a Journeyman Wireman. Apprentices are also required to complete five years of school. Classes are at the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center.

A general description of work performed on the job includes the following categories:” to “A general description of work on the job includes:

  • Wiring of residences, duplexes and small apartment buildings, and necessary shop work and preparation
  • Wiring of public, commercial, school and hospital buildings, the installation and repair of all equipment therein, and necessary shop work and preparation
  • Wiring of all industrial buildings and equipment, the maintenance, repair, and alteration of this wiring, and necessary shop work and preparation
  • Wiring of systems, including sound, data transmission, telephone, fire alarm, fiber optics, energy management, closed circuit television, programmable controllers and nurse call

In order to become a LightingTheQCA.com licensed electrical contractor, our team members undergo hours of training and development to not only understand the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Installation Standards, but to receive a license.
